Shane's teaching reflects nearly two decades of immersive practice and close mentorship with senior Iyengar teachers and many of the era's most influential yoga figures. In Los Angeles he trained daily at the YogaWorks Montana Avenue studio — a vibrant gathering place where leading teachers shaped a generation of practitioners.
Living blocks away, he was welcomed as family and made the studio a second home, learning through direct, hands‑on transmission and building ongoing relationships with senior teachers that continue as a living dialogue. He remains close with several of them, and that ongoing connection informs his work—combining technical precision with embodied awareness and uncommon communicative attunement. Students consistently report that this transmission is more than technique: he teaches from an accessed, luminous clarity that makes them feel genuinely seen and invited toward deeper freedom.
With this foundation and his mentors' encouragement, Shane moved to Paris in 2022 to carry the work forward. His wife, who studies with him, was instrumental in the move. His teaching reaches a growing local and international community, bringing together the rigor of classical Hatha and alignment training with the openness of his California roots. He maintains a dedicated personal practice and continues advanced study with senior Iyengar leaders in India, Italy, and the United States—an ongoing transmission that shapes his teaching.
Students appreciate his keen, observant eye and clear, practical guidance with sensitivity. He helps practitioners build physical strength, stability, and freedom of movement while cultivating mental calm and steady practice. Classes welcome committed beginners through advanced practitioners, and private sessions deliver individualized refinement and long‑term progress.
“Practice becomes firmly grounded when done with consistency, over a long time, and with sincere devotion.”
— Patañjali

Shane leads with disciplined, grounded attention and calm progression. Often called Embodied Alignment—also Skilled Embodiment—his guidance pairs precise, progressive form with attentive direction to cultivate physical intelligence, rejuvenate energy, and steady the mind. The work prioritizes breath, foundations, and core while cultivating listening and stillness so development arises from the root causes of posture and tension. Shane teaches with compassionate authority—aiming to free students from limiting patterns—and guides toward steady strength, clear attention, and practice that carries into daily life.
His teaching emphasizes precise alignment, progressive sequencing, and hands‑on refinement, offering experienced students the depth they seek and newer students a clear path to steady progress. Shane creates a supportive, non‑performative space where all levels work honestly; direct, often wry, and clinically observant, he offers clear, practical instruction with warmth and exacting care—always with clear, respectful consent—and approaches teaching as an ongoing creative inquiry, refining form and communication with an artist's attention.
Rooted in nearly two decades of mentorship and classical training, Shane follows a rare lineage‑informed path while choosing not to confine his teaching to any single institution—integrating wider influences without sacrificing technical rigor, and supporting steady, resilient growth. Practically, Shane continually refines how to share this work so people can access yoga's holistic benefits — a living practice rooted in craft and disciplined care that fosters clarity, ease, and vitality.
Weekly Restorative, Rope Wall, and Inversion classes complement regular practice, deepening somatic integration and offering a complete, embodied experience.
